Hey diddle diddle

The cat’s learned to fiddle

The cow’s been humming a tune.

The little dog laughed -he’s a jovial sort –

And the dish slept in until noon.

Another verse from the collection entitled  Father Goose’s Revenge.

New Year’s Resolutions

Offer grand solutions.

If only they would stay

For longer than a day.

***

“I will . . ” I say on New Year’s night

In two days that becomes “I might . .”

And in a month – it makes me mad –

I’ll often say “I wish I had. . .”

Old King Cole was a merry old soul

And a merry old soul was he

He called for his pipe, he called for his bowl

And he called for his big screen TV.

As he puffed on his pipe and he watched TV

He was almost a merry old soul

But he said out loud “This puzzles me –

Why the heck did I ask for this bowl?”

Another (second straight month!) from the collection entitled  Father Goose’s Revenge.

Jack and Jill head up the hill?

Maybe they shouldn’t oughtter

Lots of danger lurks ahead

For just a pail of water.

Another  from the occasionally-appearing collection tentatively entitled  Father Goose’s Revenge.  More to follow, from time to time.
