A Walk in the Woods

I found this shot about the same time I picked the Quote of the Week below.  I doubt if this is “the forest wilderness” that Muir envisioned, but I find it just as clear a path into the universe!  Can you feel the peace around the bend in the path above?  Taken here in Branson in the early 2000s.

Sandhill Crane Flyaway – Bosque del Apache, NM

Taken in Feb 2012, while visiting good friends Marvin and Claudia De Jong.  What an amazing experience.  (For a half-dozen other shots from the Reserve, see Bosque del Apache 2.)

Devil’s Tower – Wyoming

Located in the Black Hills, near Sundance and Hulett in northeastern Wyoming, this amazing tower dominates the landscape.  (People come from all over to climb this thing!)  This was one of my stops on the way to my Missouri River Adventure (stayed near this picture in a unique inn mostly populated by aforementioned climbers), and it certainly made an impression.  Taken in late July, 2016.

Horseshoe Bend – Page, AZ

Displaying an amazing bend in the Colorado River, this iconic and beautiful spot is so big, it’s hard to capture on film, even with the flexibility my lens gave me. Taken in October 2019 (and undoubtedly shared back then, too, but . . .)
